Free, 24-hour crisis, mental health, substance use, emergency shelter services to improve lives Grassroots provides 24-hour access to quality behavioral health, crisis intervention and homeless services to individual and family consumers in need. All services are free of charge. This includes a crisis line, responses to 988 calls/chats/texts (Maryland and nationally), 24-hour walk-in counseling, a 24-hour substance use disorder stabilization program, a family and individual emergency shelter and Howard County’s Mobile Crisis Response.

Thank you so much to the team from Smith+Nephew who recently visiting the Day Resource Center for their Day of Service. This awesome group helped clean the center, including sweeping floors, bussing tables and helping individuals who visited to take showers. They also greeted our visitors, and helped with mail and other admin tasks by staffing our front desk area.
