Grassroots is excited to celebrate this week's All Star, a team member who is making a difference at Grassroots through their work helping our consumers and other team members. Congratulations to Markia, OMHC Medical Administrative Assistant! Markia is a very valued member of the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic team who is always willing to improve consumer experiences at Grassroots. She provides care coordination to our consumers and helps in removing barriers to wellness, recovery and mental health treatment. Recently, she helped one individual get their social security card, government ID and birth certificate. Markia is very reliable and always follows up with needs and tasks of the program and consumers. She is a great asset to the team and is cheerful and bright bringing a smile and positive attitude to Grassroots every day. We are fortunate to have Markia on our team! See you tonight as the community comes together for the 4th Annual Light the Night 5K for Suicide Prevention, which raises awareness for suicide prevention resources in our community. As in previous years, the event will raise money for Grassroots and the the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Maryland Chapter (AFSP)! The Light the Night 5K will be more than just a race, it will serve as a county-wide acknowledgment that we support and care for those impacted by suicide. We are so thankful to the high school students who organize this race. The event will start at 6 p.m. with remarks to begin at 6:30 p.m. and the race to kick off at 7 p.m. at the Oakland Mills High School Track (9410 Kilimanjaro Road, Columbia, MD 21045). You can register onsite, and the event is rain or shine! #5k #runforsuicideprevention #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #runforsuicideawareness #hocomd #lightthenight5k #suicidepreventionawareness (fb)
