Today is the 20th Anniversary of Endangered Species Day—a day to celebrate the ESA's successes, recommit to the fight to protect our most endangered wildlife, and defend against the draconian attacks on the Endangered Species Act from Congress and the Trump Administration. To meet the moment, ESC brought representatives of our member groups and activists from across the country to Washington, DC, to speak with the representatives on both sides of the aisle. Experts on wolves, piping plovers, bats, right whales, and more told their stories about why the Endangered Species Act is so vital for the species they work with. Regardless of party, nearly every office had a similar message: "This is good information, and it's the first time we're hearing it from someone with such a personal stake." We thank all our coalition partners, member groups, and wildlife champions, Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA) and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), who joined us for a fantastic rally and press conference outside the Capitol. Now, we call on all of you. The ESA has saved 99% of the listed species from extinction and is supported by 95% of the American public. Let's work together to keep it strong!! (fb)
