Now that you have met Corrissa- our outgoing Executive Director has some parting words........ "After years of leading this incredible organization, it’s time for me to pass the torch—and I couldn’t be more excited about who’s stepping in". Corrissa, Get ready for a job where no two days are ever the same. One day you’re meeting with community leaders, the next you’re dressed as a penguin for Give Big. You’ll learn to pivot fast—and probably do it with caffeine in one hand and a roll of paper towels in the other. Some advice as you begin: No idea is too weird if it helps families. Expect to wear all the hats (sometimes literally). The team and board? Absolute gold. And the families—they are everything. They’ll remind you daily why this work matters, and they’ll touch your heart in ways you’ll never forget. I’ve laughed, cried, danced with toddlers, plunged a toilet before a grant meeting, and once led a community event holding a family’s toddler. It’s been messy, beautiful, and one of the greatest honors of my life. Welcome to the wild, wonderful, mission-driven world of HCRC. You’ve got this. Passing the baton, Amanda Johnson (fb)
