It began in Alaska as a duckhunting club in the 1970s when a group of local hunters friends and sportsmen would get together in pursuit of waterfowl. They eventually became concerned about the future of the waterfowling sport wetlands and waterfowl management principles. AWA was formed to ensure the OUR HISTORY I was one of the founders of that notable organization which was born of an interesting little twist to Alaska history.
