Right now, funding for Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment programs like the ones we provide at Guild is at risk. These programs could receive permanent funding from SF670, but the governor’s proposed budget cuts, which are reflected in HF2440, would cut Minnesota employment programs service capacity by 70%. We engage in advocacy work to help unlock our mission of helping our clients lead stable, fulfilling lives in their chosen community, and this spring we had the opportunity to champion policy changes and investments at the state capitol during two advocacy days. On February 19th, members of our staff and community joined together for Mental Health Day on the Hill. Even with the very cold weather, it was an exciting day of advocacy. We’re grateful to our friends at NAMI Minnesota for partnering on this vital cause! The following month, we gathered on March 12th for Homeless Day on the Hill. A special thank you to Homes for All - MN and Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless for spearheading this effort. We continue to have so much gratitude for our community. (fb)
