International perspectives on Jewish Genealogy: At the Feb. 9 meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay, member Scott Mandel will give an overview of last fall’s 44th International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies conference, which brought together over 175 different presentations, meetings, workshops and activities. Mandel will speak about the presentations he attended, genealogy researchers he encountered and his observations about attending an international genealogy conference. He’ll also talk about plans for this year's conference in Fort Wayne, Ind., from Aug. 10-14. This presentation was postponed from October because of Hurricane Milton. The meeting will take place at the Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater. Schmoozing begins at 1:30 p.m. and the presentation starts at 2 p.m. The program is free to members and $5 for non-members. Dues for 2025 are $25 for single members and $35 for couples/families. (fb)
