Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim (CMPI) is a Maya and Indigenous led organization founded by the Maya Community in Omaha Nebraska in 2007. We enjoy relations with the Omaha Nation and maintain our Maya identity and nationality through our transnational work. Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim's mission is to improve the health and well-being of Maya people through community development strategies in Omaha, Nebraska, and Maya Q'anjob'al territory consistent with the Maya Q'anjob'al system of social organization and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. With our regenerative agriculture, health, arts, education, human rights, and economic development programs, CMPI envisions contributing to our wider society's social, cultural, and economic vitality.
