We've maintained this mission since we were first established in 2001 as National Advocates for Pregnant Women.

No one should lose their rights because of pregnancy. Our Issues We fight the ways that peoples rights are threatened because of pregnancy or any pregnancy outcome including pregnancy loss abortion or birth. Our Approach We use legal advocacy policy advocacy research and collaborate with allies to challenge state harm.

When embryos and fetuses have legal rights, pregnant people, families, and providers are forced to weave through legal mazes to make healthcare decisions — it’s dangerous. No one should lose their rights, dignity, or humanity when they become pregnant.
