Home The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation The purposes of The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation are to advance literacy and foster a love of readingamong underserved and atrisk children and youth. Lois Lenski celebrated author and illustrator of over one hundred childrens books and the 1946 Newberymedalist for Strawberry Girl established the Foundation as a charitableinstitute in 1967. Since then the Foundation has assisted over 400 organizations in their efforts tonurture readingskills gain access to books and instill a love of reading. The Foundation focuses our giving in two major areas The Foundation is owner of the copyrights to Lois Lenskis works.
