Wintergreen Fire & Rescue staff are assigned to over 3,000 incidents per year. Our staff are contracted by Nelson County to answer EMS calls county-wide under the banner of "Nelson EMS". No matter what the uniform or ambulance may say, we are one team. THE ORGANIZATION IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE FOR A PORTION OF NELSON COUNTY, VIRGINIA.

Crabtree Falls: Twice yesterday our Technical Rescue Team (TRT) was dispatched to Crabtree Falls, located in southern Nelson County. On the first call, our crews hiked in from the top, however never encountered the patient. It is believed the patient hiked out through the lower entrance and was transported by a private vehicle.
