Handsome Mac the bald eagle has been eating well these days thanks to all the fish that his friends have donated! 🐟 We greatly appreciate the support! Mac (short for “Potomac”) is a male bald eagle who came into rehab back in 2019 with a wing fracture and significant soft tissue trauma to the injured area. His fracture is healed and stable, but he can’t fly well enough for release. We aren’t exactly sure how he received the injuries, but we think the damage may have been done by another bald eagle. In the wild, bald eagles eat a wide variety of fish species in addition to mammals, birds, and carrion. 🦅 You can come meet Mac at our Outdoor Classroom in Cheat Lake on Fridays between 1-6pm. (fb)
