US Army Golden Knights Alumni Association US ARMY GOLDEN KNIGHTS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION How It Started In 1959 the Russians dominated sport parachuting. To beat them the US Army needed a team of its own. On October 12th 1959 seven Airborne Soldiers were gathered to form the Strategic Army Command Parachute Team. Also known as the STRAC Team.
