Beyond Legal Aid ("Beyond") is a non-profit organization that brings legal services directly to the most disadvantaged and supports grassroots activism. It uses its innovative model "community activism lawyering" to remove barriers to justice for those who are overlooked or turned away by other organizations. It also supports the work of partner community organizations to strengthen their capacity and impact. Beyond is not only about legal aid, but also about being a part of community-driven change by uniting lawyers and activists together in a collaborative pursuit for social justice. By creating partnerships between lawyers and grassroots community organizations, Beyond will maximize both legal and activism resources to produce greater and more impactful change.
