This week's Staff Spotlight highlights Robin Sweeting, our Project Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator. A member of CDS for over thirty-four years, she has had numerous roles, first as a kindergarten teacher, teaching every grade as the school expanded, followed by the upper school director. Currently, as our PBL facilitator, she supports educators in goal setting, collaborative problem-solving, and reflective conversations within the PBL construct “I love working with the teachers and students designing meaningful learning opportunities, connecting with community partners, and researching learning expeditions." She believes project-based learning helps prepare our students for their future.” Together, we can spark curiosity and build critical skills to ensure students have the opportunity to thrive.” Today's top companies report that the most essential skills they look for in candidates are communication, teamwork, leadership, reliability, and dependability - with collaboration being key!" This week, our seventh-graders partook in two time-honored CDS traditions - a beach leadership trip where they participated in various team-building activities and began brainstorming their peers' 8th-grade graduation dinner, followed by the school car wash where they worked diligently fundraising to support their planning efforts!
