Families Moving Forward

We’ve seen what happens when communities speak out: programs are saved, funding is restored, and more Minnesotans get the chance at a stable, affordable place to call home. Congress is back in session — and the housing budget deadline is October 1. The current housing proposal cuts over a billion dollars of funding to housing, especially to the Section 8 rental assistance program.

This week at our Light the Way Home fundraiser, more than 560 people attended at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center in support of Beacon's mission. Together we can do more than create buildings; we create homes that support individuals and families in moments when they need it the most – the kind of emotional and practical supports that many of us have relied on throughout our lives. Take a look at this year's video featuring Emerson Village resident 'Aziga and partner Project for Pride in Living.
