Sunday Funday Cartoons! This week's cartoon highlights how food fuels more than just our commute; it strengthens our community bonds and the journeys we take to connect with each other. Artwork by Guillermo Frausto (fb)

We had a great time at the Teen Action Fair at the Gates Foundation DIscovery Center!✨ We connected with over 160 teens about our mission and work, and had many insightful and engaging discussions around Food Justice. Thank you again to Gates Foundation Discovery Center and all the teens who attended! Text: We had an incredible opportunity to engage with the Gates Foundation at their Teen Action Fair, where we connected with over 160 teens about our mission and work at Food Lifeline and had 100 teens sign up to inquire about our Teen Leadership Program. The event was a great chance for young people to learn more about our organization and explore ways to get involved through our Teen Leadership Program. Throughout the day, we actively engaged the teens by using our Food Justice Wheel and “Define Food Justice” board, sparking meaningful conversations about what Food Justice truly means. It was inspiring to see how many teens grasped the fundamental idea that Food Justice starts with ensuring everyone has access to the food they need to thrive. Some of the insightful responses we received from participants included: “Food Justice is equitable food that is sufficient for everyone.” – Teen Action Fair Participant “Food Justice is being able to get healthy, good food.” – Teen Action Fair Participant “Food Justice is sustainable access to food!” – Teen Action Fair Participant These conversations reaffirmed the passion and understanding that the next generation has for creating a fairer, more sustainable food system for all. We're excited to continue engaging with these motivated teens and work together toward a more just future! (fb)
