Credit Counseling> Certified credit counselors provide private, one-on-one counseling sessions to help clients develop a plan of action to overcome financial challenges and gain a better understanding of their credit. Pre-Purchase Education> Financial Fitness classes help future homebuyers overcome credit obstacles and master the concept of money. In our Homebuyer Education classes, “Fastrak” students learn the basics of the home buying process, i.e., selecting a home and understanding the mortgage process. Our Homebuyers Club is a long-term peer support program designed to help families fully prepare to purchase a home. Lending> We have the unique ability to meet the financial needs of a wide-array of potential homeowners. We can originate all the most popular residential mortgage loan products, individually tailored for each homebuyer. Options include down payment and closing costs assistance. Full-Cycle Lending process begins with a community revitalization plan cooperatively developed by residents, business leaders, government officials, and others who have a stake in strengthening the community. Post Purchase Education> In these classes, homeowners review financial concepts and learn new tips on topics such as insurance, refinancing, predatory lending practices, and avoiding delinquency and foreclosure. Foreclosure Prevention> Our housing counselors are available to provide counseling solutions for homeowners facing an immediate crisis. Resident Leadership Training> Through our national partnership, we provide unique training experiences to emerging and established leaders who are working in our local communities. These activities challenge leaders to implement concrete plans for positive change. Create A Home for Our Hero > Neighborhood Housing Services of Richmond, Inc., a non-profit organization, has been dedicated to assisting Military families achieve and maintain the American Dream of homeownership and community sustainability. Our Affordable Housing Awareness Week service project is designed to aid Disabled Veterans in need of immediate ADA accommodations after transitioning back into civilian life. This project will rehabilitate a blighted property in the historic Church Hill area of Richmond, VA to meet the needs of any physically impaired service men/women coming home from active duty. We provide current armed forces, veterans and disable veterans, with financial literacy counseling, post purchase counseling, and emergency repairs needed to assist in modification of homes for disabled. Our impact reaches all military families throughout Virginia.
