Please join us in asking our state legislators to make it easier for Ys in NC to offer afterschool programs. Our state is facing a child care crisis. The Y, along with the NC Alliance of YMCAs and other child care advocates across the state, has been actively seeking revisions to child care licensure rules to make those rules developmentally appropriate for school-aged children. This would make it possible for more Ys to get licensed and offer quality afterschool care through the state’s subsidy program. We invite you to join our effort. The N.C. Senate is expected to put out its proposed budget before Easter, so now is the time to advocate for investing in child care solutions in our state.
