Kentucky's Mighty Wurlitzer
Kentucky's Mighty Wurlitzer's mission is to conduct regular performances of this historic cinematic treasure, now a 3/18 Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ; by reinstalling this instrument in its original Kentucky Theatre home located in downtown Lexington, KY. This will be accomplished by ensuring the preservation through celebration of the historic tradition of the era of silent motion pictures, including the establishment of a regionally recognized Silent Film Festival, with live theatre organ accompaniment and public subscription concerts by local, regional and internationally recognized theatre organists for the enjoyment, education and cultural enrichment of the citizens of Lexington and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
