Happy Teacup Tuesday! For the first week of June, we are sharing this lovely June-themed teacup made by Royal Albert. This is one of their Flower of the Month cups, a set that was developed in the 1960s and 70s, replacing the 1950s Flower of the Month designs. The cup shape for these is called Montrose, but the set was also produced in at least two other shapes. The set has: January Snowdrops, February Violets, March Anemones, April Sweet Pea, May Lily of the Valley, June Roses, July Forget-me-not, August Poppy, September Michaelmas Daisy (also known as Aster), October Cosmos, November Chrysanthemum, and December Christmas Rose. These designs were very popular, and besides the cup and saucer they produced many other wares, including mugs, plates, breakfast cups (which were wider and shorter), tennis sets (snack trays with cups), vases, napkin rings, thimbles, bells, and key chains.
