Zoo Miami staff are not only amazing at what they do, they are passionate about the species also! This #worldtreekangarooday we celebrate not only tree roos, but our amazing staff and their contribution to conservation. Yosanni and Dr. Bezjian traveled to Papua New Guinea to help conserve #treekangaroos in the wild. Dr. Bezjian conducted water surveys and checkups on wild tree roos as part of a #onehealth initiative to understand the connections between clean water, animals, and local residents. Yosanni shared experiences and knowledge about nutrition, enrichment, and training while learning firsthand about tree kangaroo habitat. This shared learning helps with rescue efforts at the Port Moresby Nature Park. Both are on the steering committee of the Tree Kangaroo SAFE #TKSAFE and Zoo Miami is a continued Program Partner in the conservation program. (fb)
