At approximately 14:20 on Sunday, 18 May 2025, JCC fire dispatch received a call for assistance from a boat operator on the Chickahominy River near Yarmouth Creek. The vessel with four souls aboard suffered a mechanical failure that could possibly lead to a fire in the engine compartment. Disabled and drifting into shallower water, the craft was intercepted by JCBVFD Boat 1, the individuals aboard were transfered to Boat 1, and the craft was pulled to deeper water where JCCFD Boat 3 was utilized to tow the boat to Brickyard Landing. There were no injuries and no loss of property. This response was another successful joint effort between JCBVFD and JCCFD personnel, equipment, and apparatus.
