Martina Santos, WSCAH Board Member and longtime volunteer, delivered a passionate speech last week at the Rally for Food Access on the steps of City Hall, urging Mayor Adams and the NYC Council to fund CFC at $100 million. In her testimony, she emphasized: “As a WSCAH volunteer, I have been able to feel the sad reality of hunger and need that exists in our city. I have witnessed for more than 15 years how WSCAH’s work has become indispensable to many in our community, but unfortunately, it is a job that requires a lot of effort and financial support." Let's ensure all New York City families have access to healthy, affordable food with dignity. We support increasing baseline funding to a total of $100 million for the CFC Program. #WSCAH #NYC #foodinsecurity #RallyforCFC (fb)

Our social safety nets are collapsing and our community needs support. Cuts to SNAP (formerly food stamps) would be devastating to the 1.8 million New Yorkers who receive those benefits, including over half a million children. Call on your local lawmakers to prioritize food security in the state budget and use your voice to #fightagainsthunger. #wscah #endhunger #foodinsecurity #snap #dignity #community #choice (fb)
