This Corporation is anonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gainof any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit CorporationLaw for charitable purposes. The specific purposes for which this corporationis organized are (i) to educate the general public about disaster preparednessincluding the hazards that may negatively impact their communities in the eventof an extraordinary event and (ii) to promote public safety by organizing oneor more community emergency response teams (CERT) to support and lessen theburdens of local government activities in dealing with disasters or emergenciesincluding minor fire suppression, disaster medical assistance, and crowd andtraffic control in the event that an extraordinary event should occur, and(iii) to conduct other educational and charitable activities associated withthese goals as allowed by law.
