Nick Hamatake Foundation
The Nick Hamatake Foundation is dedicated to promoting Japanese art by making fine Japanese works available for public enjoyment and education. This is primarily accomplished through loaning works to museums, universities, and similar institutions.In seeking out high-quality pieces from the most reputable dealers both inside and outside of Japan, the Foundation acquires works of great artistic and historical merit that would often disappear into individual collections otherwise, rarely to be seen by the public afterward. The Foundation works actively to ensure that each piece is lent regularly to a variety of institutions, allowing it to be enjoyed far more broadly than if it were to remain in storage at a single museum for years (or decades) between viewings.
