The origins of Les AmisSaint Louis The Friends a Missouri notforprofit corporation are rooted in the French Heritage Relief Committee formed during the 1993 flood of the Mississippi River to support the preservation of the endangered historic resources of Ste. Genevieve Missouri and the surrounding historic French Creole corridor. Since its inception Les AmisSaint Louis has sponsored programs tours lectures and books contributing to a greater understanding and appreciation of the French heritage of the region and has provided funds to purchase and restore significant historic French Creole architecture Les AmisSaint Louiss greatest achievement and indeed its most daunting continuing task is to bring the regions notable French Creole history to the attention of the general public.
