Spending time in beautiful Acoma lands with our Pueblo relatives at the Herbal Medicine Making Workshop was such a healing and centering experience. Learning from Land Steward Fellow Chasity, about the abundance of health found in our plant relatives. Embracing these medicines and stewarding the areas where they grow keep us grounded and connected to our healing ways of the land. Practicing the stewarding of our health through communing and believing in these plant relatives is what will encourage reclamation of the communal autonomy of our health and lands. Honoring the ancestral knowledge and wisdom of these plants that have shown us great strength, will give us the courage to create a healthier future for all. Askwali / Kuna'ah / Kwa'kwah to Chasity and the Acoma community for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of the strength and resiliency that comes from knowledge sharing. Uplifting and supporting each other in communal healing and reclamation of our plant medicine ways. We are in awe of the young community leaders who are inspiring this healing work to continue and thrive. We’re having a great time with our team learning and growing at our community farm and gardens. Our interns have been working on building bio intensive garden beds, transplanting tons of annuals including tomatoes, peppers, basil, chard, kale and more, and critter proofing our growing tunnel to ensure that we are successful in our farming efforts this season.
