A few days ago, we had a very uplifting conversation with some ladies with the Consumption Literacy Project. These are some tumultuous times for the nonprofit world with government funding being slashed or having the fear of it being taken away hovering over their heads on a daily basis. Austine, CLP’s fearless, wise leader reminded us about hope. About pivoting and looking for opportunity in everything. About gratitude and counting our blessings. About how important community is to people of all ages, and that this connection is going to make us all stronger and get us through to the other side. We have so much gratitude for and hope in the organizations we support. Their work is important and impactful in so many ways. We know that we’re helping these orgs create stronger communities for a brighter future. Our gratitude goes out to all of the compassionate people working and volunteering for them. Just like first blooms after a long winter, they give you hope for the days ahead. The Consumption Literacy Project is doing impressive work to improve food sovereignty, reduce waste and are bringing communities together by creating gardens in different Denver neighborhoods. Fantastic work- that might be in danger of losing some important funding. Please check them out and learn more about their work. (fb)

We are devastated by Los Angeles fires and the immense destruction they have caused. The sheer magnitude of the loss—homes, wildlife, and entire communities—is overwhelming and difficult to comprehend. With so many affected, it’s hard to know where to start helping. We’ve identified a few organizations that we believe are doing impactful work. If you don’t know someone directly impacted, consider donating to individual GoFundMe accounts; they have a list of verified campaigns to ensure your contributions reach those who need it most. Direct Relief - directrelief.org Project Hope - projecthope.org World Central Kitchen - wck.org L.A. Food Bank - lafoodbank.org GoFundMe - gofundme.com L.A. Fire Department Foundation - supportlafd.org California Fire Foundation - cafirefoundation.org Pasadena Humane Society - pasadenahumane.org Sweetbeau Horses -www.sweetbeauhorses.org (this is one of the organizations that we support and they have volunteered to take in displaced horses from L.A. Consider donating to help with these expenses) These are just a handful of hundreds of organizations mobilizing on the ground to help where they can. You can search online if there is a specific cause that you are looking for. (fb)
