The purpose of the NSBE DC Professionals is to "increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community" in the DC metropolitan area. The National Society of Black Engineers aims to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. NSBE DC provides scholarships to students in the Washington D.C. Metro Area and offers professional development and volunteer opportunities for both members and the local community at large.
