Summer is just around the corner, but there's still time to register for this year's summer camp at Atlanta History Center! We have programs available in June for kids in grades K-8 that'll have them engaging in hands-on, interactive experiences throughout our exhibits, historic houses, and gardens. Join us as we play, create, grow, and explore our way through a historic summer! https://www.atlantahistorycenter.com/programs-events/summer-camp/ (fb)

Opening in 2026: A new, innovative American Civil War era exhibition at Atlanta History Center! Years in the making, this new exhibition will be our largest ever at more than 15,000 square feet, with cutting-edge technology, immersive storytelling, and newly acquired artifacts. It will encompass the reimagined DuBose Gallery, where "Turning Point: The American Civil War" has been on view since 1996, and the Goldstein Gallery. After nearly three decades of educating and engaging millions of visitors, "Turning Point: The American Civil War" will close on May 25, 2025, to make way for this next-generation experience, which is set to open in summer 2026. The new exhibit will look at the whole of the American Civil War era, from the years leading up to it as well as the years that followed, and Atlanta’s integral role in the war’s eventual outcome. We’re so excited to share more about this new exhibition as we start building over the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates! (fb)
