April is National Occupational Therapy Month! Trauma-informed occupational therapy is one of the many services FamilyForward offers to support families on their journey towards healing. 💙 But what does occupational therapy (OT) do? 🤔 🙋 We help children engage in activities (occupations) that are meaningful to them and their families. 🎲 We use play and everyday activities to create intentional learning experiences for children. 🤝 We collaborate with families and caregivers to create calming spaces and routines that help support children's sensory needs so they can learn and thrive. 🧡 We help build relationships between children and caregivers to create a sense of safety and encourage engagement in activities outside of therapy sessions.
