Voices on the Border
Voices began in 1987 as a network of individuals and groups in the United States responding to the needs of organized communities of Salvadoran refugees in Honduras. We accompanied them during their return to El Salvador in 1990, and we continue to focus on programs that empower and accompany the poor and strengthen the capacity of rural communities to work for their own development.

Voices on the Border ABOUT US Our ties with our communities date back to the 1980s when VOICES began providing political and material support to refugees living in a camp in Colomoncagua Honduras. Today the majority of our work is carried out in the mountains of northern Morazan and in the Bajo Lempa and San Juan del Gozo regions of Usulutan. We also engage in extensive social advocacy work in San Salvador the nations capital. We believe in collaborative development at every step and put significant trust in our partners in order to continue to build local capacity and provide the necessary information and tools required to protect local interests and achieve common goals.
