The command is love! In 1 John 2:7-11, we learn that loving God and loving others isn’t just a nice idea – it’s a commandment. Jesus modeled this love, and now we, as His followers, are called to do the same. Here’s what we discovered in today’s message: 1️⃣ The Command Is Old & New – Jesus' commandment to love God and love your neighbor is rooted in the Old Testament, but it takes on a new quality through Christ’s sacrificial love on the cross. 2️⃣ Walking in the Light – Those who know God walk in His light. We can’t claim to know God while walking in darkness (1 John 1:7). Love is the proof that we are living in the light and in fellowship with God. 3️⃣ Love vs. Hate – Love for others is evidence of God’s presence in us. Hate, on the other hand, keeps us in the darkness. If we love God, we will love His people and His church. 💬 “Do you love God? Do you love people?” The commandment is to love, so are you a lover or a hater?
