Whitman & Hanson Dollars for Scholars, based in Whitman, Massachusetts was established in 1963 to raise money for graduating high school seniors to help defray the cost of post-secondary education. We are a non-profit organization made up of volunteers; no one receives any pay for any work done for this organization. We have various fund raisers during the year, such as yard sales, town-wide mailings, Taste of Whitman & Hanson event, electronic recycling events and the like) at which the high school students assist the adult volunteers. The majority of our money comes from donations from the local businesses and organizations in both towns and from memorial scholarships given by townspeople.
