Young people who’ve experienced foster care are especially vulnerable to human trafficking. While trafficking is difficult to track, the risk is real. In 2020 alone, nearly 1 in 5 children who ran away from the care of social services—and were reported to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children—were believed to be victims of child sex trafficking.
