“So those muscles that control your goosebumps are giving you information, it’s your body talking to you in a way maybe you didn’t understand was powered by muscles. I love that because that’s one of those surprising things where it isn’t all under your control and yet there is an awesomeness about what your body can tell you without your conscious thought” Bonnie Tsui joins us for a conversation inspired by her book “On Muscle: The Stuff That Moves Us and Why It Matters” in our most recent Yoga, Disability and Transformation session. We are mourning the loss of Jane Gould, a beloved yoga teacher and friend to so many within our organization. Jane came to Mind Body Solutions as an accomplished yogi who thought she had lost asana when her multiple sclerosis moved her into paralysis and a wheelchair. She found MBS as an adaptive yoga student but quickly became so much more. A vital presence, Jane found her teaching voice again and became a cherished presence on Sunday mornings, leading a global classroom of people living with a wide range of disabilities. Through a gentle but direct manner, she led our MindBody Story Substack, helping many students find the confidence to share their stories and talents along the way. Jane had the uncanny ability to make you feel seen, listened to, and truly held. Her unassuming wisdom made you sit up and take notice. We will all miss her delightful voice, dolloped with an English accent, her coy smile, and unexpected quips. She was uncommonly patient, especially with who you are. Jane Gould will continue in our hearts like the aroma of a lingering perfume. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. In honor of her Sunday teaching, we offer you this highly treasured class she taught about a year ago. https://youtu.be/hNPdz-qPY6M (fb)
