Fun Fact Tuesday… Did you know that South American maned wolves are native to the pampas grasslands of Brazil, where grass can get well over 6 feet tall? Maned wolves are the tallest wild canids in the world and the only animal in the canid (dog) family that has a pacing gait, like a horse! This is where they move both legs on the same side of their body at the same time! One theory about why maned wolves walk this way is that it helps them move more efficiently through these tall grasses.
