The Interventional Initiative Awareness Access and Advocacy for Minimally Invasive Imageguided Procedures MIIPs Scratch Pads for Patients Often clinicians draw pictures for patients when discussing a procedure but we are not all artists. Our Scratch Pads are note pads with relevant anatomy that can be drawn on and given to patients to take home. Patient Experience Podcast Podcast series in collaboration with BackTable Podcast to raise awareness about minimally invasive image guided treatment options. Patients share their experiences what they were told or not told how was the recovery and their advice for clinicians and patients.

Pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) is a painful condition experienced by women caused by enlarged varicose veins that develop within the pelvis, which can lead to chronic, dull pain that can become more intense when sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. A minimally invasive image-guided procedure called ovarian vein embolization is an FDA-approved treatment that requires no surgery and no general anesthesia. A specially trained doctor called an interventional radiologist uses imaging to guide a tiny catheter into the veins, which are sealed off or “embolized.
