Social Ventures for Sustainability
Our mission is to encourage environmentally responsible consumer behavior. We partner with campuses and communities to inspire social innovation, providing individuals with tools and resources to run effective grassroots movements. Our flagship program, Kill the Cup, started as a grassroots campaign at UC San Diego to reduce waste from disposable coffee cups. The program is now turning into a nationwide environmental initiative on college campuses, and we are using the platform to inspire student ambassadors to become social entrepreneurs.

SOCIAL VENTURES WAS FOUNDED BY TWO FAMILIES COMMITTED TO POSITIVE SYSTEMS CHANGE As longtime philanthropists we have been frustrated by the large dollars invested to fix or improve critical social challenges and the limited success in actually solving those problems for society. Philanthropic dollars have improved education for some access to health for some and affordable housing for some but the problems persist at scale.
