Wonderful Wednesday: Old House, New Life "I like the look of historic homes, but they just can't adapt to our family's needs." We've all heard this as an excuse for demolishing homes of a certain age. But, with vision and determination (and, yes, sufficient funds), old homes can be adapted for the modern lifestyle, without sacrificing character and charm. Exhibit A: this beautiful remodel of the historic Scott House on Interlachen Avenue in Winter Park, designed in 1933 by James Gamble Rogers II. Recently, the Miller family hired local architect (and Casa Feliz board member) Michael Wenrich to update, and add onto, their home to meet their family's needs. Wenrich received a 2025 AIA Design Award for his work, and the jury commented "we feel like Gamble Rogers would approve." Happy Historic Preservation Month!
