Maestro Classics records fun & educational CDs and MP3s with music, stories & activity booklets for children. LoftOpera is a 501(c)(3) working to bring opera to a younger, less affluent audience, which we are accomplishing on a scale of 300-500 attendees per performance night. We do this by offering low ticket prices (typically $30) and by setting productions in alternative loft spaces in Brooklyn with creative but inexpensive staging. We have found that this formula is exciting and inspiring a new and growing generation of opera enthusiasts. James Jorden of the Observer sums up our mission: “[LoftOpera is] in the process of reinventing opera for the 21st century, packing the house with hip young crowds with a formula that includes rock-bottom ticket prices, artisanal beer and… highly talented performers having at least as much fun as the audience."Founded in 2013 by Executive Producer Daniel Ellis-Ferris, General Manager Brianna Maury, and Principal Conductor Dean Buck, LoftOpera is also committed to championing new artistic talent by providing young artists opportunities to perform lead roles backed by high quality musical accompaniment and artistic direction. Previous LoftOpera productions include Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Bohème, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Lucrezia Borgia, The Rape of Lucretia, Tosca, and Le Comte Ory. Our next performance is Così fan tutte in September.
