August Quarterly Festival Committee Inc
The August Quarterly commemorates and celebrates the significant historical perspectives of our nation in general and the African American experience in particular. It educates participants on a variety of American freedom movements, including, but not limited to, the Underground Railroad, the August Quarterly, the Abolitionist Movement and other revered freedom movements. The vision of the August Quarterly Festival Committee is to become a center for cultural activities and programs that reinforce a sense of belonging and pride within the African American community for youth, for families, and for senior citizens. To educate the nation in the history and significance of the oldest African American Festival in the United States. To relate and recognize the connection between the Underground Railroad and its contribution to the freedom and independence of African Americans.
