Sigma Kappa National Housing Corporation

The Sigma Kappa National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the housing needs of Sigma Kappa Sorority chapters across the United States. It was established during the 1993-1994 academic year with the mission of enhancing the collegiate experience by fostering safe, attractive, and relevant living and learning environments for its members.

Mission and Services

The NHC provides operational support, financial management services, and financing to local house corporations and facility committees. Its efforts are guided by the core values of Sigma Kappa Sorority, including promoting personal growth, friendship, service, and loyalty among members while ensuring a high-quality living environment.

The NHC collaborates closely with local chapters to manage properties, oversee staff hiring, and provide comprehensive risk management and safety information. This ensures that chapter houses meet both local fire and safety regulations and university housing requirements. For chapters participating in its Housing Operations, Management, and Employee Services Program (HOMES), the NHC manages all operational functions, including facility maintenance and upgrades.

Leadership and Structure

The NHC is supported by both paid staff and volunteers who bring expertise in areas such as accounting, property management, and real estate. This diverse skill set allows the NHC to offer a wide range of resources and technical assistance to local house corporations, supporting them in achieving the Keys to Housing Excellence.

The Sigma Kappa National Housing Corporation plays a vital role within the broader Sigma Kappa organization.
