Union Capital Boston transforms social capital into opportunity by rewarding community engagement. UCB’s mission is to transform social capital into opportunity by rewarding community engagement. UCB’s vision is that community collaboration cultivates equity. UCB activates volunteerism to build resilience in under-resourced neighborhoods in Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, and East Boston. UCB’s approach combines technology and relationship-building to strengthen neighborhood networks and create pathways of opportunity for individuals and communities. UCB’s model of relationships and rewards creates a consistent opportunity to engage and build social capital where one has not existed before, with 1) a mobile rewards app for engagement, 2) trained Network Leaders from the community to run programming, and 3) community-based Network Nights.
