Fab Labs share the goal of democratizing access to the tools for technical invention. The Cedar Valley Makers are caretakers of the Cedar Valley39s only fully equipped industrial makerspace.

Since we have a few members at the Waterloo Urban Farmers Market today, we figured we'd also share a project we have worked on for the market. CVM members were contracted to make wooden EBT coins for use at the market. It was a project that makers completed on the laser engraver - they turned out pretty neat, if we can say so ourselves.

CVM volunteer using our laser to make 2000 EBT coins for the Waterloo Urban Farmers Market - Helping vendors and consumers connect and stretching their dollar towards buying local fresh veg. Our laser was funded by Black Hawk Gaming and has been an absolute workhorse providing community enrichment in so many ways.
