Vendela - a captivating 1.5 year old Shepherd mix Vendela came to us very hesitant to trust people. She was one who we slowly had to work with to get her out of her suite. Within days though, she was coming up to people for occasional pets & always would take treats. Her milestone where we saw her feeling comfortable was the first time we saw her playing with toys💕 Turn to today, she plays in the yard at the rescue with the other dogs like a pro😁 She comes up to volunteers for lots of love and back scratches. Vendela playfully steals toys back & forth with the other dogs. She does well with the boys, especially the handsome, silly ones🥰 While she is yet to have overcome all of her fears, we feel she is ready to start looking for that caring, patient adopter she will need to continue to move forward with in a home. She currently does not walk on a leash on a regular basis. We will next try to make progress there. But for this reason, a secure fenced yard would be a must for her. Our guess us that she would do best in a calmer home with lots of one-on-one time. If there is another dog about her size(39 lbs), she may transition more easily (or if you are looking for a boy to pair with her - Thunder or Barley). Day 16 of our adoption challenge. Will & Grace here. Will is hanging out of his bed as always in the left picture, and Grace is on the right, showing her adorable overbite. We asked our foster mom to tell you about us. She knows best. Here is what she wrote. Will and Grace are both timid and scared of new people and things. However, Will warms up easily, and Grace slowly follows his lead. She is very dependent on him. Grace is very much a lady, always sitting proper, moving delicately, and gentle while Will is very willing and eager (once he trusts) to roll over and expose his belly for belly rubs; he has no problem of wiggling his way in (sometimes pushing other dogs out of the way) to get your affection & attention, and he sleeps in the quirkiest ways (usually half hanging out of his dog bed). They LOVE to be outside, exploring the backyard, soaking up sunshine, and going for walks. They love being where the human is and are intrigued by what you are doing. They don’t particularly care about being on the furniture, but they keep watch from their dog beds and love to have me come snuggle them. They HATE the vacuum and will bark and try to attack every time. Can you see that we are pawsome dogz? Where are you, our future human(s)? We are well-behaved and so much fun.
