Finally, we work with families to enhance self-sufficiency by providing English classes to improve their English skills and facilitate their ability to participate in our economy and to support their children as they matriculate through our public school system.

Over 100 teachers, students, and their family members came together in early May to mark another great year of the New Neighbors program. We were delighted to listen to the poems written by two of our students, Santiago and Laila, as part of our annual newsletter project, which focused on sharing their vision for a more just world. After awarding certificates for each student and thanking our awesome volunteers, we enjoyed a delicious potluck of dishes and delights from the 30+ countries represented by our New Neighbors community.
