What a beautiful experience this year was. It’s hard to put into words how deeply this community has impacted me, but I’ll try, because the world needs more of this right now. In a time when connection can feel fleeting, and division feels louder than ever, coming together with this group of artists, teachers, and staff reminded me just how powerful true community is. This wasn’t just camp. It was a sanctuary. A reset. A place to be fully seen and celebrated, where vulnerability was strength, and joy was abundant. From the amazing campfires to the late-night conversations, games, from the workshops that bust open our creativity to the shows that left us breathless with laughter, I carry all of it with me. I carry you with me. To Wendy, TJ, Eric, Jaclynn, Jessica, Allen, Jacque, our incredible counselors and ambassadors and staff, thank you. All the staff at Ocean Pines thank you. Your hard work, love, and dedication were felt in every detail, every moment. You didn’t just make camp happen, you made it home. Let this be the ripple. Let what we created together flow out into the world. Let’s spread the light, the silliness, the unwavering support, and the joy. Let’s take care of each other and keep showing up with open hearts. Until we meet again, Camp West. Keep the magic alive. As small as we may be this community is mighty. This community has kept improv alive. This is what we as humans are truly about and what many are trying to make us forget. Remind them. Support organizations that do this work in your hometown, or something you truly believe in. Help your local theater, volunteer, donate if you can, become active. Art only thrives with you. Introduce people to this ripple effect and show them how awesome it is to be celebrated for being a kind, brilliant, loving, and supportive human being. Don’t give up.
