How We Started The first undertaking of the group preceding our organization then operating as the New Jersey Committee Support Israel was to raise money for an armored school bus for the children of Ofra an Israeli settlement located near Jerusalem who attended school at another settlement nearby. The school bus with an inscription painted on its side To Israeli children from the Russianspeaking Americans and their friends was delivered to the settlement to be used for transportation of children to school in the fall of 2001.
