The Hi-Pointe Theatre was built in 1922, and it is also the home of the world’s largest Amoco sign. Taking its name from the surrounding neighborhood, it is the highest point in the City of St. Louis. The aquamarine seating, a longtime favorite of St. Louis moviegoers, was added in 1963, and it was recently refurbished. Today, the theater boasts a huge new screen and explosive Dolby Digital sound while preserving the theater’s historic and neighborhood feel. Some of the movies playing in late-June are "Interview With the Vampire", and "2001: A Space Odyssey." "Lolita" and "Clockwork Orange" will be starting in July. This twist on traditional ravioli gained popularity and became a beloved staple at Charlie Gitto's restaurant.
